Battle weary Logan watches his back in new photo.
As we impatiently await the second and final trailer for Logan, director James Mangold has blessed us with another beautiful still from the upcoming movie.
Unless Ryan Reynolds can convince Mr. Jackman to put off hanging up the claws for a Wolverine vs. Deadpool film, this could be the last we see of the mutant on screen for quite some time (until the inevitable reboot that is).
Fox recently screened 40 minutes of the film to fans and press, and it was met with very positive responses. Many praised the performance of Dafne Keen, who plays X-23.
In the comics, X-23 a.k.a. Laura Kinney was a genetic clone daughter created from Wolverine’s blood. She eventually took up the mantle of Wolverine after her father’s demise. Like Wolverine she has an accelerated healing factor and superhuman strength, senses, speed, and reflexes. She also has adamantium coated retractable claws – two per hand and one per foot.
Years after the epilogue of X-Men: Days of Future Past, some of the last mutants, an aging Logan—whose healing factor is starting to fail—and Charles Xavier, protect a young girl named Laura who is very similar to Logan, and is being hunted by sinister forces.
Logan has a March 3, 2017 release date and is directed by James Mangold. It stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Stephen Merchant, Doris Morgado, Eriq La Salle and Dafne Keen as X-23.
